UTC-2S Heat Transfer With Shell-And-Tube Exchanger Vocational Training Equipment Thermal Transfer Training Equipment
This unit consists of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger and of a tank heated by an electric heater for the production of hot water pumped by a centrifugal pump. Tests can be carried out in co-current and counter-current.
Training program
This unit enables to deepen the following issues:
- Heat transfer between fluids separated by a wall in co-current and counter-current
- Energy balance and calculation of efficiency
- Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD)
- Overall heat transfer coefficient (U)
- How flow rate and of temperature difference can affect the transfer coefficient
- Comparing the operating modes and performance of different types of heat exchangers
