AFME015 Two Hinged Parabolic Arch
This equipment is for mechanical engineering department or mechanics engineering department in university, it’s for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Engineering Mechanics, Solid Mechanics major and other mechanics related department.
The equipment allows direct measurement of the horizontal component of the abutment thrust of a two hinged parabolic arch by using a simple model. It is to be used with Universal Structural Frame (separately supplied).
A parabolic arch of uniform cross-section has one end of the arch on a fixed hinged pin and the other is on bearings on a horizontal force support.
The horizontal movement of the roller end is monitored by a dial indicator. Measurement of horizontal thrust by the roller end is by using a pulley and a load hanger.
Instruction manual is also included.
Demonstration of the characteristics of a two-pinned arch
Examination of the relationship between applied loads and horizontal thrust
Comparison of behavior to simplified theory
Bottom with adjustable rubber to adjust the height.
The total weight is less than 200kgs.
Working environment: -10℃~40℃， Humidity<85%
